Can Parties Unite on Early Education?

Nicholas Kristof suggests that early childhood education is the issue on which Republicans and Democrats could find common ground. He cites a joint memo from former campaign rivals Jim Messina (President Barack Obama) and Kevin Madden (Governor Mitt Romney) urging that both parties back investments in early education. “Early education is the low-hanging fruit of public policy,” Kristof writes.
