Strategic Plan 2015-2018
Launched as a nonprofit organization in 2004, Fairfax Futures is entering its second decade of building collaborations, supporting partnerships and engaging community leadership around issues related to young children’s school readiness.
In the spring of 2015, the Board of Directors engaged in a strategic planning process, resulting in a three-year roadmap that will help guide Fairfax Futures’ work through 2018.
The 2015 – 2018 Strategic Plan focuses on four broad areas:
- Expanding outreach and communications to raise awareness about the impact of quality early childhood education and school readiness on children, families, the community, economy and quality of life in Fairfax County.
- Increasing the depth of training and mentoring opportunities to build the skills and knowledge base of the early care and education workforce in Fairfax County.
- Building a sustainable organization with the leadership, financial support and performance metrics required to deliver and demonstrate impact.
- Connecting with business organizations, chambers of commerce and individual companies that recognize the impact of early care and education on current worker productivity and job focus and as the critical first step in ensuring a well-prepared and agile future workforce.
