The ASQ® Enterprise is a convenient, easy-to-use, online tool that facilitates the completion of developmental and social-emotional screening questionnaires for young children birth-5 years. Program users, such as early childhood programs, collaborate and partner with families to organize and manage the results from two tools – the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®:Third Edition (ASQ®-3) and Ages and Stages Questionnaires®: Social Emotional-Second Edition (ASQ®:SE-2) in multiple languages.
Thanks to generous funding from the John & Janice Wyatt Foundation, Fairfax Futures manages an Enterprise account which allows multiple programs across the county to use the program free of charge. Programs that have demonstrated competency in using the ASQ tools are selected to participate. To date, Fairfax Futures has enrolled over 50 programs and over 200 users. Participants are provided guidance with setting up their profiles from Fairfax Futures and collaborate with their peers to learn through doing. Programs that have made the switch from a paper-based screening process to an online one have reported benefits such as, efficiencies with data management, improved synergies with parents, and automatic scoring which eliminates errors thereby providing more accurate referral information.
Over the next several months, we will be sharing stories from the early childhood field about the experiences that programs have had in switching to the ASQ® Enterprise. Our team recently collaborated with Ivory Quick, Program Coordinator with Sparkles Early Learning Academy in Fairfax County. Click here to see the video interview and learn about Ivory’s experience.
